by Rose Bowl Legacy Foundation

IN MEMORY OF THE LEGENDARY KNUTE ROCKNE AND NOTRE DAME'S HISTORIC 1925 ROSE BOWL GAME APPEARANCE

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish defeated Stanford University in the 1925 Rose Bowl Game, 27–10. The game featured two legendary coaches, Knute Rockne of Notre Dame, and Pop Warner in his first year at Stanford.  This game marked the first appearance for Notre Dame in any post season bowl game, as well as, marked the first appearance of the Notre Dame football team on the West Coast which eventually led to the founding of the Notre Dame - USC rivalry.

INSPIRED BY HIS LEGACY: The Rose Bowl Legacy Foundation is embarking on an important public appeal to raise funds in support of a historical marker of Knute Rockne, which will reside at the Rose Bowl Stadium in sunny Pasadena, in the shadows of the broad-shouldered San Gabriel Mountains - to commemorate Notre Dame's first post season bowl game, the 1925 Rose Bowl.

Please help us in raising the funds needed to commemorate such a legendary coach.

We thank you for your contribution!
